Dear CSGA members,
The CSGA board and CSGI have made the decision to remove the requirement to show proof of double vaccination for Covid 19 for all of our courses, effective immediately, unless required by our host lodges or aircraft carriers. Masks may still be required for some settings and will be reviewed situationally.
We recognize that there may be a variety of personal opinions, thoughts and levels of comfort. As an association and as a community we need to respect each other and those differences as we move away from the heightened intensity of the past couple of years and, as we have learned so well, be ready to adapt again should the facts present themselves.
Public Health Orders have been changing quickly in BC, our team has been following closely and we wanted to make the changes as soon as appropriate in keeping with government requirements and industry best practices. I realize this may create opportunities for students that weren’t there a month ago and that may be a point of stress as you prepare for your course. Hopefully you have been training throughout the season, as we all should be doing to keep our skills sharp so that we are always ready for the unexpected.
As always, if you have questions, concerns or great ideas please feel free to contact me at [email protected] or [email protected] and I will endeavour to get you going in the right direction as quickly as possible.
This has been a challenging couple of years for everyone and I hope we can continue to be kind and do our best to create solutions to whatever we are faced with. We may not always get it right but we will keep trying. I hope you are all enjoying a great, safe season. Stay diligent through the spring – I am noticing a lot of size 2 ski cuts in the info ex lately – and we hope to see you in Penticton on May 3rd for our AGM.
Take care,
Erin Tierney
CSGA President
