Notice of Special Resolution Vote

March 26, 2022

CSGA Updated By Laws 2022

Please be advised that, as a current member of the CSGA, you are entitled to vote on the adoption of updated CSGA bylaws in a special resolution vote.

Voting is by electronic means. You will be receiving a separate email directly from the electronic voting site today. Please check your junk mail. You will vote through a link on that email that is specific to you. By using this link you will not require a log in or password. Please use the link in the email sent by the voting site.

Voting is open from March 26, 2022 at 11am PST through April 20th, 2022 at 10am PST. This allows for the 3 week notification requirement in our current bylaws.

The reason for this vote in advance of the AGM is because the by-laws need to be updated prior to the next election of board members. The board was six members in the past, not including the past president. The new bylaws have been amended to allow for six board members plus the past president, all as voting members. This makes an uneven number to prevent a tie. It also allows our past president to participate more freely and share their knowledge and history of the association.

Additional changes include:

  • All gender specific pronouns have been removed
  • Requirements for a current member have been updated to reflect our current practice
  • Membership categories have been cleaned up to reflect the current operation.

Please review the document here and vote before April 20th, 2022. Please use the link in the separate email that is being sent to you today. It is specific to you and your official ballot.

Please refer to the bylaw document for information on quorums needed for a valid vote. If you do not agree with the new bylaws you will have an opportunity to comment on the ballot. Bylaws will be accepted or returned for amendments based on a majority rule.

Thank you for your participation.
